Valencia Star – I admire Arsenal and Liverpool

|

Valencia star Juan Mata has admitted that a move to England would appeal to him if his cash-strapped Valencia team were forced to sell him. In an interview with FourFourTwo, he said he believes the financial situation at the Spanish club is looking pretty bleak:

“I don’t know if I’ll be sold, it depends on the economic situation of the club, which right now isn’t so good. In the summer we have to raise a lot of money, and there is a possibility that they may have to sell players.”

If such a situation arose and he had to be sold, he believes a move to the Premier League would be on the cards, and he stated his admiration for both Arsenal and Liverpool:

“In Spain they show many Premier League games on TV and it is an inspirational league. Maybe I would like to play in the Premier League.  At the moment I’m here, I love living in Valencia and playing in the Spanish league, but in England the league is also top class and there are many big teams. Who knows? I admire Arsenal and the philosophy that the young players have. Liverpool, with their Spanish players – they also have an incredible squad. And Manchester United and Chelsea are teams that are very big, like Real Madrid and Barcelona, with money and incredible players.”

Liverpool simply don’t have many for this outstanding player. Simple as that.

  • The Dude says:

No Rafa no Mata, how many top outstanding playes will want to be managed by hodgson (good manager he may be) but not really appealing.

  • Phil says:

I think Liverpool could get him for alot less than is being touted because he struggles to make the bench for Spain (that’s not necessarily an indietment of a player, given their wealth of riches in midfield)and his club need money almost as much as us! 10-12 million and I think he’d be worth it. I’ve heard some fans prefer him to Silva.

  • t says:

the appeal for the player should be the club not the manager. it is true though Liverpool dont have the money

  • seo says:

like dude said: no rafa, no mata

  • rouman says:

he would be a better player at lfc, he should come as for money? kuyt 9mil mash 25mil, benny 6mil yes we will have money. because a few will go.that is a fact…………

  • Bozie says:

@dude @seo do not be silly!!! Liverpool is what attracts players not benitez!!! Benitez was a manager at anfield for 6 years, we were a massive club well well well long before that!!! But then I do agree that hodgson won’t have the knowledge of how to sign big players, that bein difference!!!

  • booze says:

bozie, how many international star players where signed by the likes of evans and houllier? benitez with his name in spanish and international football, and the fact that he brought us back to the top of the european stage changed a lot when it came to what players i would seriously hope could come to liverpool. the stars will want to live in italy, spain and london over liverpool any day. benitez and his european record with lfc was the reason we could ever hope for big names coming up north. and more would have come if the money had been there…

I think Liverpool got better option, Turan will be perfect. The Reserve players must took into consideratio.

this guy is a player, silva has been admired by me for years but he is just so over rated, he is the weak link and when navas or juan play at the right of left flank for spain, torres and villa get better service, juan mata is worth every bid 18-20 mill, he really is.
has has a passing mind, he can float behined torres as a second frontman, he can play on either flank, this guy for his shirt sales and age would be a great deal, its a win win situation but with the current owners we have got we will not be seeing spanish as players coming to lfc at the present time! any way rafa is after mata, and as far as i know he gets on well with rafa as rafa knows matas family for years! but mata is if not the best player in that type of role for his age,

  • daboy says:

Love to have him will be a big star in the EPL but alas unless new owners take over or sales of top players i cant see it happening.

  • AFCNews says:

I was dissapointed with the last Gunners match the other week, hopefully we can get the points coming and stay first in the premier league, Come on you reds!

  • fADZ says:

its simple..kenny is only looking for useless english players who are not worth the money we spent on them..instead look for quality players!

    Carrolll – 35 million?? lol
    Henderson – 20 million?? lol
    Downing – 20 million?? lol
Doni – free transfer but probably the worst goal keeper in italian league who already let in 6 goals in 2 games for us! lol

with 75 million we could have got much much better players in the team!
