BEWARE the World Cup Ads

It seems as if appearing in a World Cup ad, be it for soft drinks or snacks has a detrimental affect on your subsequent achievements in the World Cup tournament itself.

Witness Wayne Rooney for Powerade and his dismal showing for England, likewise Peter Crouch, Kaka, Messi and Frank Lampard who all did their bit for advertising, yet, their tournament all ended in failure.

Whereas the players like David Villa, Forlan and Klose kept a lower profile and are the final’s top-scorers. Must be a lesson in their somewhere?
