Rumour Mill: Liverpool in new link with Slovakian captain?

|

Liverpool are being linked with a fresh move for Napoli midfielder and Slovakian captain Marek Hamsik. According to givemefootball.com, reports in Italy are suggesting that Roy Hodgson may look to revive interest in the the 23 year old who was first linked with a move to Anfield under Rafa Benitez. The website believes however that the sizeable transfer fee that Napoli would demand for the player will prove to be a major stumbling block in any move. Hamsik scored 12 goals in all competitions last season, taking his total to 33 in his 116 appearances for Napoli during his three seasons at the club. He was named runner-up in Slovakia’s footballer of the year last year and was also named the young player of the year. He captained his country during his first World Cup in South Africa this summer.

The team need other positions filled Hamsik though a very good player would be a waste of what little money Roy has.

bring him in send aqua the other way ..

sell masch and lucas bring in a defensive mid

    and we’re set

  • Red Ted says:

He is a good player, but there are rumours that he makes team mates uncomfortable in the showers with his constant staring. Not good for team morale. I say give him a miss.

  • Zekk says:

He isn’t a direct replacement for Mascherano. Both have different roles. We should only consider if Inter offers a part exchange with a sizeable fee.

A website suggesting the Reds may revive their interest means absolutely nothing, when in the same article they also state that the sizeable transfer fee would scupper any deal.

I suggest to you that I may be interested in revivng my interest in winning the lottery but the sizeable fee of a £1 demanded for a ticket may prove to be a stumbling block in me doing so

  • HITMAN says:

    bring him whatever price

    Nice one Cheyenne!!! Like it!

better option than petrov but i think being 3 players short of the quota, we should take advantage of man city needing a clear out and so i would buy 3 or 4 of the following- bridge, onueha, ireland, SWP or richards. with the money we have brought in and with the ungrateful little argie bollocks on his way out, i don’t think the fees for them would be a problem

I agree man city will have a fire sale. The papers are on pay per click so are running things like. Man city break transfer record fir torres. That sounds like something that’s been done but in reality it’s a story saying it might be done.

But it gets the clicks .

Liverpool to buy star striker …. From under 8 school team

I’m hoping Roy is after quality not quantity

Obviously you know nothing about football. Aquilani is a quality player and in many peoples opinion, he is much more technically advanced than even J.Cole. Go and do some background work on where he came from and what quality he has prior to injury. Rafa didnt give teh lad a chance to show his talent, and many reds turned on a great signing because he was brought to the club injured. For this only Rafa is to blame.

He is fit again , and under Roy im sure all who doubt him will eat their words now he has a chance to shine. remeber the boy played no more than 180minutes last season and still managed a goal and 2 assists. Do these look like the stats of a s**te player?

    well said Red_From_Aus

Aqua is top drawer and a really special player… he needs a good run
I’d pick a fit Aqua in my team any day

If anyone had actually seen him play for Roma when he was fit they would not want him sold… he also showed glimpses of what he can do last season

  • dil says:

I don’t know why people against Aquilani. He is a good quality player,i undustand that he had a bad last season cause of injury. Other thing is, he hasn’t got chance to play. Keep him and give him a lot more chance to play then you’ll see how good he is.

  • Duigs says:

Roy must buy this player, he must buy that player! With what money? Are you fans forgetting the financial predicament we are in, under H&G?
What concerns me more is that Roy (or Purslow) is after Luke Young & Bridge. Madness…

  • paul bishop says:

nothing wrong wiv bridge he is english and still a quality LB do agree abt young and what worries me now is that yesterday lucas was capt so i dnt thnk we will b bringing any1 in from the sale of macherano looks like they will pocket the money the yank t….

  • Cool story it is without doubt. My friend has been seeking for this tips.
