Anderlecht striker Romelu Lukaku’s agent Christophe Henrotay has told De Standaard that many of Europe’s top clubs, including Liverpool, have expressed an interest in signing the 17 year old Belgian starlet:
“None of the clubs have contacted us or Anderlecht lately, but I know that Real [Madrid] came to see Romelu a few times and the interest is there. There is also interest from Liverpool, Chelsea and all the great European clubs, but it’s too soon.”
The 6ft4 striker scored 15 goals in 25 matches in the Belgian first division last season and helped Anderlecht to the league title. Henrotay also said though that it might be beneficial for Lukaku to stay in Belgium for another season:
“The ideal scenario for Romelu is to stay at Anderlecht this year and play in the Champions League. Romelu shouldn’t be in any rush.”
