Italian Press: Palermo to raise bid to £7m for Reds midfielder

|

According to Datasport in Italy, Palermo are preparing an initial bid of £5million for Liverpool’s Brazilian midfielder Lucas. The fee could rise to as much as £7million if negotiations progress well and Datasport believe that Palermo are aiming to begin official talks soon over a move. Earlier this week their director of sport Walter Sabatini confirmed the club’s interest in Lucas:

“He is a very strong player and I really like him, but to talk about negotiations at this stage is inaccurate.”

According to Football Italia though, Liverpool have an asking price of £8million for the 23 year old and it remains to be seen whether Palermo will offer that much for the player.

  • Lucas says:

Feck off, Lucas has been made a scape goat in past seasons. If you look at last seasons Premiership stats he was near the top in tackles won and passes made. He is young and a box to box midfielder, not a defensive mid like Rafa decided he was. If rafa had stayed we would have seen Torres in nets this season.

  • Dude says:

Lucas has been made a scapegoat for a very good reason. He is pants. He passes sideways or backwards. He is slow, his tackles have cost us important games including getting knocked out of the cup by Everton season before last.
Every player deserves a chance but he had enough chances last season, hence our final league standing.
I just hope he takes the other halfwit, Ngog with him.

  • HITMAN says:

    dnt sell him

  • mac says:

Lucas will be a lot better player because of last season. You knee jerk fans go and support city.

  • steve mcauley says:

knee jerk???? the boy has been here how long? never was and never will be good enough for Lfc! agree with dude, he’s had his chances

  • JP says:

People who slag Lucas are clowns who follow the bandwagon.

He was one of our best players last season and performed better than Gerrard for most of the season.

    Keep him.

  • Marshy says:

Internet browsing, Sky watching, ‘phone in, S*n reading divs, have no idea about Lucas. Get to Anfield or an away match, see the guy in action and listen to the support he gets.

I am quite amazed at the number of ignorant fans we sometimes seem to have…. All those so called fans who do not see the value of players like Lucas Kuyt & Ngog annoy me. If Lucas & Ngog were british most of them would going on about the wonderful talent.
In support of Lucas his statics for last season were excellent, ironically it seems a lot of managers seem to rate him 2/3 of managers he has played have all made captain and that is with experienced players available. More telling is that his fellow players respect and rate him highly. When you hear people like Reina Carragher implying that he was one of our best players last season it makes you wonder about the intellect of the morons constantly berating him. Look at all the applauds Kuyt received at world cup even “gods” of football like Cruyff complimented him.
How many 21yrs olds in the premier league scored as many goals as Ngog last season, I would be suprised if there is more than 4 or 5
We need to lay off and support our team or as someone commented earlier feel free to go support City…

lucas is an a very useful player to have in rotation/on the bench. he’s not quite a first team player in my view.

  • Aayush Sood says:

lucas is the worst midfielder in the so called “top four”…if we have to challenge for d title n not fyt for just a champions league place..he should b sold..

  • steve mcauley says:

@ryan01, and do you know what annoys me, morons who refer to people who don’t share their opinion as “so-called fans” or do not consider them “real fans”
me and you obviously don’t agree but i would never question your love of Lfc, so don’t you question mine!

  • ryan01 says:

    @Auyush
I would not say Mikel John Obi is better than Lucas
    @Steve M
    point taken…

  • steve mcauley says:

    cheers ryan

  • LFCDIEHARD says:

lucas might not be as gifted as xabi or aqua but he’s played his part in the game the lad was there week in week out winning balls and trying hard…
true he’s got time a lot even rafa doesn’t care about quality he wants player to play his way, football is fun!!! so let’s play football not war!!!
am not personaly a fan of lucas but the guy deserves a chance here…

Ngog… pfff scored missed has time no comments

Kuyt is a “machine” he’s absolutely gr8 can’t replace this guy, hope roy get the 4-4-2 and sees him assist torres upfront.

Should keep babbel and sees how roy takes the best out of him, he’s got talent but rafa imposed him to supress them, let’s see a new liverpool in 2 weeks!!!

    YNWA!!!!!!!

    KOP 4 LIFE

  • Matt Ro says:

I think its foolish to write of anyone since our new manager has come in. Players respond differently to new coaches and Roy has a track record of good player/coach relationships. No disrespect to Fulham but he took a bunch of mediocre players and went to the Europa Cup final and a respectable 12th place finish last season. Just think what he could do with a much higher level of talent week in and week out. I think Babel, Ngog, Lucas and Aqua may all well flourish under Uncle Roy’s leadership.

  • steve mcauley says:

good point matt, i’ll give you that!

  • xna.maldives says:

cumon guys, lucas will be a future star, it wont take much time for u guys to realize how good a player he is, we dont need a team full of players who dribble the ball and show some fancy stuffs…its called a team, cuz we need to have players with different attributes at different places…. u guys will miss Masch ofcourse…think abt who can fill the gaps… only Lucas (in the current squad)

*** dont forget he was the best player in BRAZILIAN league… so, there must be more than what see from him…. i liked him ever since he came here, (i sometimes think its NANDO, when Lucas runs…i mean same style)
chillout guys, in uncle Roy we trust..YNWA

  • albey says:

Hello steve mcauley hope your ok mate i have to disagree with on this one matewhich is unusual but on the lucas and ngog debate i would like to throw my two peneth worth in firstly ngog as you should remember this in 1980s a young forward came through the ranks he had pace similar to ngog he missed chances galore we all thought why is sir bob playing him he is shite the player IAN RUSH the best goal scorer you will ever see and that includes torres the rest is history as for lucas this is a similar case his comparison dunga when he first came on the scene for brazil we all thought whats he doing playing for them he is nothing like a brazilian well do i have to go in to the rest as thats history aswell so give theses boys a chance year by year lucas has improved and and as a french genius once said you need water carriers as for ngog working with torres can only help him learn he is after all only a boy sorry to disagree with you steve mate but as you say we all have diffrent opinions albey
