Reds to seal new signing today?

|

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Liverpool will tie up the transfer of Middlesbrough goalkeeper Brad Jones today. The deal is said to be worth £2.25million but the transfer has apparently been help up in recent days, according to the paper, because of a dispute about how the fee should be paid. The disgreement has now been sorted out though and the 28 year old should move to Anfield very soon. Jones was kept out of the Boro side that played Chesterfield in the Carling Cup last week ensuring he would not be cup tied for Liverpool in a competition he would most likely feature in. The signing of Jones is most likely motivated by the Reds plans to increase the number of “home-grown” players in the squad as Jones was trained by Middlesbrough for three years before the age of 21 to qualify.

Makes sense for the reason mentioned in the article plus our Brasilian backup wants out which would leave us with Frenchman Itanje, whom we also hope moves on soon.

LOL very true magnumopus. Don’t know the reason Rafa bought Itandje in the first place.

We should have swapped him for Itande plus cash!
