Rumour Mill: Reds linked with Argentine World Cup star?

|

Argentinean newspaper Ole believes that Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is looking at Fiorentina’s Mario Bolatti. An international team-mate of Javier Mascherano, Bolatti can play in a holding midfield role or in a more advanced position, and any move would only be likely if Mascherano was sold to Barcelona. Bolatti only moved to Fiorentina back in the January transfer window from Porto and he was selected in Argentina’s World Cup squad by Diego Maradona. The 25 year old was bought by Porto from Belgrano in his native Argentina back in 2007 but he failed to break into the Portuguese side’s first team and was loaned to Huracan for the start of last season before transferring to Fiorentina. He has not however settled in Italy and was rumoured to be on a verge of a one year loan deal to River Plate before the rumours about Liverpool surfaced.

    Take himn on a loan deal as it looks like none of those expected teams can realistically afford Masha!

    He played a couple of games in world cup qualifiers but he wasn’t in the world cup squad and he certainly wasn’t a world cup star. He’s an average player at best

    waste of time and money look at our younger players and hope it ay true abt swp. as i believe maboo will b a better player than swp. so wudnt waste my money on him either

    Bolatti? Who is he, seems to me all the teams he’s signed for he’s been loaned out? That to me says he’s not very good! I think this article is a waste of time, were getting poulsen hopefully so that’s the replacement for mascherano, plus we’ll have a few bob left over to get a decent winger or striker. Bellamy has been touted around and I hope that one is true, play him left wing, someone with pace, and then alternate the young kids in the squad such as amoo, eccleston, Pacheco

    We can’t know how he will perform in the Prem and I for one don’t think we can afford to take that kind of risk.
    @fitzy Bellamy? please god no!
