Rumour Mill: Roy back in for Costa Rican striker?

|

Another less than reliable rumour from CaughtOffside.com is that Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is looking to revive his interest in FC Twente striker Bryan Ruiz. The Costa Rican scored 24 goals for the Dutch Eredivisie champions last season and Liverpool could be about to bid for the player to shore up their options up front. The 24 year old is valued at a sizeable figure of £13million by Twente, according to the website, but it has been suggested that winger Ryan Babel, could be used in a part exchange deal for Ruiz. Ruiz has been attracting interest from many top European clubs and can play in a number of positions. Before last season, he invariably played on the wing or in midfield, but his displays as a striker last season in Twente’s league winning campaign demonstrated he has a good eye for goal. Whether he is interesting Liverpool we will have to wait and see.

Ola looks better than Bryan but Bryan looks better than Milevsky! Why was Aurelio on the bench on the weekend?

For every Ruud van Nistelrooy, there would be a thousand wannabes like Babel & Kuyt, just to name two.

Good news for the club. We’ve been linked with some cheap players but they’d all surely all improve us. Benayoun to Cole, Riera to jovanovic, Insua to Koncheski, and maybe Ngog to Ruiz. All good moves if you ask me. Certainly not world class but lots of little improvements go a long way.

Or should I say Voronin to Ruiz. We’d have 1 world class striker and 2 more able ones. A damnsite better than Torres Ngog and Voronin.
