Is this the ideal opportunity to showcase this young trio?

|

Depending on who starts where, it could be the opportunity to showcase the talents of Jonjo Shelvey, David Amoo or even Suso, who have impressed in the early season fixtures for the Reds reserves. Signed for £1.7m from Charlton in the summer, Shelvey can play in the attacking midfield role behind the striker and could work well in tandem with Dani Pacheco. Many Premier League clubs were chasing the young player’s signature in the summer and it would be a good opportunity to show the Anfield crowd what the fuss is all about.

David Amoo is another player itching to get a first team look in. He has scored three goals in three reserve league matches this season, including a brace against Wolves last week. The pace and goal threat both Babel and he could provide on the wings during the match would be exciting to watch and Roy could realise the element that Liverpool have been missing in recent games; the ability to stretch defences out wide with genuine speed.

Young Spaniard Suso would be the biggest outsider to play in the match, but after joining from Cadiz this summer, the 16 year old has already shown a great deal of promise exciting Reserves coach John McMahon no end. Talking after the match against the Newcastle reserves he said:

“Suso took his goal really well and for his progression and development it was a great game for him because in the first half he did really well. Peter Beardsley was really impressed with him and he was asking me all about him. ”

Of course he is still a raw talent but he is exciting, tricky midfield player who is bound to excite the Anfield crowd. The match would give his confidence a tremendous boost and also provide him with some good early experience in the first team.

Certainly it would be doubtful that all three would play as a holding midfielder such as Lucas or Jay Spearing would be needed but which would you choose to start the game tomorrow night?

Personally id like to see Babel get the chance to play up front than Ngog and watch him get his confidence back when he rips the defense apart like he used to. The players id like to feature in these matches are: Kelly, Wilson, Shelvey, Spearing, Pacheco, Suso and Amoo regardless of where Woy plays them. Any lower leagues teams would love to start any of these guys if they have them in their teams, but we got them so Woy should play them frequently.
