Carra: “It’s the same as the last 15 years”

|

When asked by reporters about whether the pressure was getting to the players, Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher replied:

“It’s the same as the last 15 years I’ve been here. It hasn’t changed because it’s always been the same. We’re not getting the results we would like, but I’ve seen it plenty of times since I’ve been at the club. You are playing for a top club and with that comes pressure. You have to accept that is the way it is. There has been a lot of trouble off the pitch. Time will tell but hopefully it will now be more settled and things will now improve on the pitch. Getting new owners will help settle things down and impact on the players.”

Carragher believes patience is needed:

“Of course we don’t like to be in that position, but it’s very early days in the season and there is still a long way to go. I’m pretty sure we won’t be in that position in the next few months, but that’s for us to put right on the pitch. There is pressure, but that comes with playing for Liverpool. As I’ve said many times, it hasn’t always been rosy playing for Liverpool. Last season wasn’t great and I remember going 12 games without a win under Gerard Houllier, so it hasn’t always been plain sailing.”

nothing will change until hodgson is gone and a new manager can come in and get rid of the pants players we have at the club, I wish it was different but the reality is we have too many mediocre players thinking they have made it simply because they play at LFC ,they need to play like there lives depend on it or leave and give someone the chance who will ,YNWA
