H&G Lawyers: THIRD Bidder for LFC, £100m for new stadium

|

According to BBC reporter Dan Roan on Twitter, there is a third bidder on the table, as well as Peter Lim’s and NESV’s bids for Liverpool Football Club. During High Court proceedings, Hicks and Gillett’s lawyer Paul Girolami QC is attempting to prove that Martin Broughton and the English board members failed in their duty to get the best offer for the club. He revealed that Mill Financial , who own George Gillett’s share in the club after he defaulted on a £75million loan owed to them, have offered the same amount as NESV as well as setting aside £100m for a new stadium. Dan Roan tweeted:

“H&G QC: Bid by Mill Financial (hedge fund who now own G’s shares) would pay off all debt and committ to 100m on new stadium.”

This comes off the back of Singapore businessman Peter Lim raising his offer to £320m for LFC today.

So what if he is a man u fan? What you reckon he will spend nearly £350 million of his own money to see us fail? What utter nonsense. This guy could help open up the Asian market. As for NESV, they have not commented if they will buy the club by borrowing money. Although that does not mean a leveraged buyout, its still a cause for concern. Lim also stated he will get rid of 100% of the debt.

@Lee – You say chelsea do fine at the bridge? Do you have any idea how much they charge compared us as they are smack bang in the middle of London? Also as the new UEFA rules come into play soon, clubs have to be self-sustaining. This means rich Arabs and Russians won’t be able to plough money into clubs for transfers. Clubs like Arsenal are going to be laughing as they will have more money for transfers due to higher revenue from gate receipts. The only way we will compete is to have a new stadium. End of story.

Whats happened to all the so wealthy Arabs ?? Those that were linked as buyers but were claiming been frustrated by Hicks. Where are they now that the club can be brought for the fraction of the price?? I

  • m kop says:

No Arabs for us, just the Americans!
If mr. Moores held out loneger he could have sold Liverpool to better owners than those 2 Liverpool could have had owners like City has now, if not the same.

One of the things that has put off Arab investors is, I think, that the owners dont want to sell at a reasanoble price and they (the Arabs) dont want to fight for the control of the club in court.

Banks in Arabian contries dont have interest on loans, their sence of moral is different, basicly they wouldn’t want to take something by force even if they could.
It would be like buying someones house for low price becouse the bank has reposesd it becouse of debts, and they are not the kind of people to do it.

Maybe if RBS would take total control they would do it but not with the owners contesting it.

    Gillett and Hicks,
    showed theire dirty tricks.
    The fans at the Kop,
    demanded they’d stop.
    Hoping we’d give’m the kicks.

With the club at it’s low,
    the Yanks suffered a blow.
    Broughton did well,
    the clowns have to sell.
They’ll be gone before we know.

    Now Gillett is broke,
    and Hicks is a joke.
    Justice at last,
    let’s kick’em out fast,
light a fat Cuban and smoke.

We’ll be coming, we’ll be coming,
we’ll be coming down the road.
When you hear the noise of the Billy Shankly boys,
we’ll be coming down the road.

Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
    And you’ll never walk alone.
    You’ll never walk alone!

    Congrats Liverpudlians worldwide!
