John W Henry and Peter Lim Speak Out

|

Prospective Liverpool owner John W. Henry had this this say on his twitter account:

“Everyone is hoping for the best. There have been enough twists and turns. Hopefully all gets sorted out soon. It would be inappropriate and presumptuous at this time to respond to questions. In the interim, we’re all rooting for the same thing.”

Peter Lim outlined his new £320m bid plus £40m transfer kitty today, in the event that the court rules in Tom Hicks and George Gillett’s favour:

“I believe that if its massive debt burden can be removed, the club would be able to focus on improving its performance on the pitch. My offer pays off the existing owners’ bank acquisition debt and also frees the club of its own bank debt. If the board accepts this offer, the monies are available immediately thereby removing the threat of administration. The club needs to strengthen its existing squad. As part of this offer, I will be injecting £40million in cash into the club for Roy Hodgson to bring in new players during the upcoming transfer window. Liverpool needs to start winning again. I respect and admire Liverpool Football Club, which is steeped in tradition and history. I am committed to rebuild the club so that it can soon regain its position at the pinnacle of English and European football, where it truly belongs. This is why I have stepped forward with this offer.”

Peter Lim is Manchester United fan why he want to buy Liverpool?

  • Paul says:

I am extremely suspicious at Lim’s timing, especially as his comments are remarkbaly similar to some of the position being put forward on before of Hicks and Co, as being reported on the Guardian blog!!!

  • Rafa says:

He is a fan of Manure, but he love Liverpool

  • Red Sky says:

It seems as though he is a business man…does what works for him. I really would prefer Lim rather than more Yanks.

  • its like there’s a foul play in this mr,LIM new offer because if he was fully in to buy our club he could have made a reasonable offer right from time, for that i now see him as a brain behind hicks and gillet case they filed in.for me the club should be sold to nevs.and pls try to feed me more about what is going to happen from now to friday being the date line.thanks.

  • Stevie says:

A manu fan in love with lfc! Funny n fishy, all the same u ar a loser. Nesv all the way.

  • Paul says:

Red Sky…..I can only assume you mean the Red of United. Like I say, Lim’s timing is extremely suspicious as is the similarity of his soundbites to what is being said on behalf of the Hicks in court; they are in this together!

  • whred5 says:

Strange how H&G’s only argument is that the deal isnt the best for the club and then this Lim goes to the press and tries to gazump NESV. Spooky timing or yet another spoiler from H&G? I go with the latter. Lim has no chance of success as the current board have already signed a exclusivity agreement with NESV which means they are in the box seat. So Peter is out on a Lim(b) 😉

LIM all the way. No more yanks plz, how can we trust these yanks. sadly its kind of bis repetita of refusing Dic for hicks n gillet and now refusing lim for the new yanks.Mark my words in a few months we’ll start all over again to pity our fate of being within the grasp of some other yankee liars.

Im a Singaporean myself and even i find this bid from Peter lim suspicious..But thats to be expected after the Yahya Kirdi incident..But at the same time Peter Lim already said that he had maid a bid before hand and the Liverpool board didn deny this fact which means it must be true..As to why he didn make a bigger bid before hand, well its the Singaporean way..U Try asking for a lower price first before u pay more..Its the kiasu way for Singaporeans…
