Italian website Tutto Mercato is reporting that Liverpool are tracking Roma defender Philippe Mexes. Roy Hodgson is keen to add extra support to the Reds leaky defensive line and the 28 year old Frenchman has been touted as a target. Mexes has spent the best part of seven years in Italy but has recently found himself out of the side with manager Claudio Ranieri favouring other options. The website also believes that Liverpool will be rivalled in their pursuit for the French international by AC Milan and Juventus who are also said to be interested in signing the player. Mexes has appeared 14 times for his country since making his debut back in 2002.
