Former Liverpool player Jamie Redknapp believes that Roy Hodgson should sign his former Fulham defender Brede Hangeland. He wrote in the Daily Mail:
Watching Spurs at Fulham on Saturday, I could not fail to be impressed by Brede Hangeland. I’m sure Mark Hughes is bracing himself for a bid from former Fulham manager Roy Hodgson, now he has the Red Sox millions behind him at Anfield. The giant Hangeland would be ideal for Liverpool as the Sami Hyypia-type defender they were missing yesterday.”
With Glen Johnson injured yesterday, Jamie Carragher moved across to right back while Martin Skrtel and Soto Kyrgiakos took up the two centre-back positions.

slur alex didn’t have a problem forking out for a fulham centre half either! great players don’t always come from great clubs, rush, hansen, whelan, mcmahon, keegan, houghton and the list goes on and on and on. i personally think hangeland COULD be another hyypia to play along side daniel agger!
I like Hangeland but Fulham are going to want over 12m and for a player as old as him, its not worth it. Prefer Gary Cahill or Kjaer or Subotic.
How about giving Kelly a chance at RB, then perm any 2 of Carra, Agger, Skrtel. Buying Hangeland would be typical of Roy – wasting his budget on an average older budget for positions he already has cover in!.
I don’t believe in “New This”, “New That”, Kenny is not “New Keegan” Kenny is Kenny, Fowler is not “New Rush” Fowler is Fowler, Stevie G is not “New Kenny”, Syevie G is Stevie G, Carra is not “New Phil Thompson”, Carra is Carra. If Hangeland is good then he is good but not another “Hypia” there is not such a thing in football.

I made a guy for bonfire night and was gonna burn it but since it’s really big i think i’ll sell it to Roy for £10m so he can put it up front for konchesky, carra and skrtl to hit long balls at.
Btw Steve, Roy wouldn’t play Agger with Hangerland if he had him,he’d prob sell Agger cos he doesn’t like defensive players to play football,hence konchesky, poulsen and the carra/skrtl partnership being prefered despite leaking a shedload of goals, thats why we’re not playing good football and thats why he has to go.
The bottom line is that Hodgson has to go before we think about buying any players for January.
