After Roy Hodgson’s trip to watch France and Romania last week, Liverpool have been linked with no less than three French internationals. According to reports from Paris, Hodgson is not only tracking the progress of St Etienne winger Dimitri Payet, as we reported yesterday, but he also looking at Bordeaux’s captain Alou Diarra and Lyon playmaker Yoann Gourcuff. Diarra spent part of his early career at Liverpool after joining the Reds from Bayern Munich under Gerard Houllier’s reign before departing back to France. Gourcuff has only recently joined Lyon in the summer and is unlikely to move any time soon unless there is a sizeable offer from the Reds using funds from NESV.

Gourcuff would be quality signing, not too sure bout either of the other 2 though. What on earth do we want another defensive centre mid for?
