The Daily Star Sunday is reporting that Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson will be handed a £60million transfer “warchest.” According to the paper, NESV will give the Reds £30million to spend in the January transfer window with an additional £30million to be spent in the summer. Hodgson knows he needs to get the right signings in January:
“I want to make sure the money, whatever amount I am given, is spent wisely. That’s so that at the start of the new season I have a new squad who I believe can give it a good go. We are trying to scout players of the highest level in the hope we can afford them.”
Apparently, the Star believes that NESV’s John W Henry and Tom Werner are currently thrashing out a financial package to give Hodgson the required amount in the transfer window.
STELLA ARTOIS WORLD DRAUGHT MASTERS
My first target would be a class def mid Muntari or Flamini then look at getting Afellay on the cheap, and a striker Kiessling.
his transfer budget seems to go up every day…
Why is everyone commenting on a story from the daily star. I am more interested in what Hodgson says. “That’s so that at the start of the new season I have a new squad who I believe can give it a good go.” So Roy will give it a good go. Is this guy serious? Winners anywhere do not just give it a go. They go out and try with all their might to be the best. This guy is really irritating me now. So we beat a relegation side. I want to see what we do against Chelsea. Bring in a new manager. Full Stop.
if its true henry is prepared 2 listen 2 fans well uve spent 3oo million dnt waste ye money on hodgson and listen 2 the players they r not happy wiv his training technics and we av a dinosaur in charge of the first team we need a manager who is younger and up 2 date wiv the modern football and secondly knows how 2 get world class players not players like carlton cole we want 2 b challenging 4 the league again am afraid wiv hodgsons ideas it will never happen no matter how much money he is given so plz get rid of hodgson he was never the fans choice
According to the article in the link below, we shouldn’t get expect an influx of activity in January there will be maybe a few players coming in, but its the summer we should be waiting to see more activity, but then again that just logic.
