Reds chasing TWO strikers in the January window?

|

The People is reporting that Liverpool are still interested in both West Ham’s Carlton Cole and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Forlan in the January transfer window. The paper believes that manager Roy Hodgson is earmarking targets with the £30million he is rumoured to have to spend with both Cole and Forlan being leading candidates. Cole is currently struggling to fit into West Ham manager’s Avram Grant’s plans and Hodgson believes the player could give Liverpool an added aerial threat up front. It is also suggested by The People that Hodgson wants to bring in two British players with Cole being one and Ashley Young being another target. In addition, Hodgson believes, according to the paper, that 31 year old Forlan could add some firepower to the team and he has prioritised him as his leading target for January. The Uruguayan has expressed recently his desire to return to the Premier League after a six year absence but there maybe stiff competition from Tottenham and Everton.

Let’s use the money to buy a proper manager! someone who isn’t fixed on buying too-old and price inflated, over-their-best players.

Forlan is too old and Cole simply ain´t good enough for the Mighty REDS!! we got more than enough homegrown in our squad so Roy don´t need 2 of his new signings to be british but I would love for him to bring in in Ashley Young though

If we can get Forlan on the cheap that would be fine, but we need a good striker to help out Torres and a good wide player on the left so cole can play in his proper position along side gerrard.

To andy Reply:October 26th, 2010 at 12:08 pm, yes ayush’s comment is hard to read but why the hell you being racist for, what does it matter if he is english or not….bottom line he is a liverpool fan and he has every right to voice his oppinion as much you, me or any other football fan apart from the mancs.

Now on this matter please we don’t want any of these players unless young came on the cheap and forlan came free as for cole i pay not to see him in our beloved colours and thing i hate at the moment more then the idea of cole playing for us is the man in charge because the longer we keep him incharge the longer we blow money in the wrong places and our best players like torres and riena will leave.

If Roys trys to sign Carlton Cole he should be sacked on the spot. A poor mans Emile Heskey.
