Where has your confidence gone Roy?

|

Under pressure Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has been commenting on the possibility of Fernando Torres possibly leaving the club:

“There will always be speculation. When a great player like Wayne Rooney is looking to leave his club, Manchester United will be in a position to target a lot of players around the world. I don’t think Fernando Torres will be the only striker they target, and I don’t think that we will be the only club that will be worried their striker can be targeted. I am not naive to believe there won’t be any danger and we will never lose a player like Torres, I understand these things can happen.”

Hardly the words we want to hear from a Liverpool manager Roy,you should be clearly stating that Torres is not for sale at any price, as you did when you arrived at the club this Summer.

Also, leaving Torres, Gerrard and Meireles out of the Europa League squad is hardly likely to inspire confidence among the ranks. Bring your strongest squad to Naples, put some of the stars on the bench and bring them on after an hour, if need be. After all, a defeat to Napoli will not help confidence going into the game against Blackburn Rovers at Anfield on Sunday. Be positive Roy.

I think ‘hoof it up the field’ football is the way forward. I can’t see what everyone is complaining about. Ok, so we’ve been unlucky with results but everyone can see that we outplayed Everton. Liverpool fans have unrealistic expectations. I, for one, didn’t think we’d beat Birmingham away and Northampton and Blackpool at home were always going to be difficult fixtures. If Manchester United want to come and take our star striker in Janaury, well so be it.

Roy along with 5 or so managers interviewed on skysports today are genuinely saddened at Rooney leaving united, it may be the reason Roy is offering Torres to his friend to ease the pain of losing Rooney. Wouldn’t be too shocked if he throws in Gerrard into that deal though unfortunately new contract man Carragher will not have the opportunity to go there and shout at every other united player when Carragher himself makes the mistakes.

Sweet baby Jesus, this man is doing his utmost to make us appear like a really small club. If this was Benitez or Houllier, god, even if it was Evans, they would never have accepted that having our best player swiped from us by United was something that was likely to happen.

I just hope that in 2 years time, we’re not borrowing from Benitez and Ferguson’s cow analogies and likening trying to get Hodgson out of the club to trying to get milk from a dead cow in our neighbours field…

  • Joe says:

I’d say his confidence has gone because of pointless stories like this and chants of ‘bring back kenny’… its little wonder he has no bottle anymore when everyones knocking it out of him every 5 seconds.

  • I wish roy will change his perttern of play. Pls. Roy you can’t win if you don’t score, just try this formation 4-3-3

  • Bethrand says:

4-3-3 is’nt d solution, coz wit roy everytin seems to be rumbling, so only wen sunnysunshine is appointed as d choach can d confidence within d squad b reignited.

  • tee somethang says:

you guyz u amaze me.was roy ever confident or u thought he was.he is useless and must go

  • tee somethang says:

roy,u are as useless as a one legged man in a kickboxing match, go away, small team coach, devoid of a brain and ideas.

  • The Filter says:

Liverpool is going through a difficult patch, no doubt and too a cartain extent Roy has been given an almost impossible task.

Does he need our support to get things right, or is the negativity surrounding the team too much?
