How did some pundits forget the quality of our Spanish star?

|

I know he had a terrible start to the season after a gruelling World Cup in South Africa where he struggled for form, but some people really did forget just how good Fernando Torres is. His remarkable record of 44 goals in 47 games at Anfield puts him up there with any of the top strikers in world football, and when you consider that he currently plays for a team that have struggled for over a year now it really does make you wonder how effective he could be if we recruited a couple of top creative players to help service him.

With games coming up against Stoke and West Ham, Torres has hit form at the right time, and I’m hopeful that he can continue his revival by scoring more goals and forcing the same pundits who doubted him during his dark spell to eat their words. After our next two matches, we then come up against two of our rivals from last season for the fourth Champions League spot; Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa. If as expected, Torres continues his good run of form against Stoke and West Ham, we will be able to head into the tough fixtures against Spurs and Villa high in confidence.

We’re coming to mid November now and slowly beginning to recover from our shocking start to the season and as long as Torres stays fit we can continue to gradually climb our way back to where we should be in the table. My only worry is that were Torres to get injured now our weak alternative forward options would most likely be exposed and our progress would be brought to an abrupt halt. For now, we can only hope that Torres can keep up his form and fitness until January when we can finally get our hands on striking reinforcements to not only share the goal scoring burden but possibly rescue our season.

Well basically the pundits should keep their mouths shut. I hate the fact that these guys get paid for expressing their views and most of them haven’t even kicked a ball in their entire life time so what right have they got to criticise a world cup winner who’s scored 77 goals in 130 appearances?
