Celtic rivalling Liverpool for winger?

|

The Times is reporting that Celtic have joined the hunt for Tottenham’s Croatian winger Niko Kranjcar. Liverpool have also been rumoured to be interested in the player in recent months but the Times believes that Celtic boss Neil Lennon is confident of bringing in the Croatian star from Spurs in the January transfer window. Both Niko and his father Zlatko have expressed doubt about the prospects of the 26 year old staying at White Hart Lane beyond January and it seems that the winger, who has appeared 61 times for his country, could be departing north of the border.

Why are being constantly linked to players like Niko Kranjcar and David Bentley who can’t even find a place on Spurs’ bench?

If this player can’t break into the Tottenham side, what right has he got at a bigger club like Liverpool?
