Liverpool’s first January signing?

|

Rennes winger Sylvain Marveaux was sat in the director’s box at Anfield during Liverpool’s defeat to Wolves, according to the Liverpool Echo. The former French U21 international has also been linked with moves to Manchester United and Chelsea in the past and can play in a variety of positions in midfield. The paper believes that although no deal has yet to be agreed, the 24 year old is out of contract in the summer and would command a very modest fee of £1.5million. There is every possibility then that Marveaux could be Damien Comolli’s first signing as Director of Football Strategy.

    Enough is enough.

  • Fidel says:

I don’t know much about this guy. But from what I’ve seen he’s better than all the wingers we have. At £1.5 M we should take him. Plus new faces may bring in some much needed energy at Anfield

  • LFC4LIFE says:

Enough is enough.LFC needs a new coach and a new owner.

    • Ian says:

What, are u on crack ? Yeah Roy is not the man for the job. But the new owners just took control and have not had a chance to invest yet and jan is no time to do that. We can spend. But not big. the summer is the best time to do so. And LFc is free of det so we will have money to spend even without his cash as we will turn in a good profit. But he will invest. He spent 187 mil on two players for his red sox team or what ever they are called. So stop bring our club down. The old oweners did enough of that for us. We need to support our club through thick and thin. LFc 4 life no matter what.

He seems to have some pace and ability, though I can’t help wonder if we’d be better off looking at some more established players first.

Personaly, I’d prefer to see someone like Eljero Elia being brought in.

  • Jay Wright says:

I’ve never heard of him, but he’s cheap and of an age where he should be hitting his peak – hopefully he’s a quick guy that will get Kuyt/Maxi/Meireles/Cole off of our wings
