“If I’m not playing, then I am ready to move on”

|

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has stated that if he doesn’t begin to start regularly in the coming weeks, then he will seek to leave the Merseyside club. According to the Daily Mail, he said:

“If I’m not playing in the Liverpool team on a regular basis, then I am ready to move on. I have only just returned from three months out injured, so I am in no position, at the moment, to say I must be in the side for every game. But once I have made a few appearances and regained full fitness, I would expect to be starting games. If I’m not playing, I can’t see a reason for staying.”

Agger has been linked with Juventus in recent weeks.

If this is true, then he can go. Fancy Dan. I am sick of players using the media to get their own way.

There is no reason that he shouldn’t be playing when fit, and that does not include sticking him out at left back!

We do need to start considering a more viable long term option though if he is going to continue to spend more time in bed than on the pitch…

Let him go he is injury prone anyway use the money wisely and go for Lescott

Let him go! are you guys MENTAL!! He’s had his fair share of injuries but he’s still our best centre back! I like Skertel but he’s a fouling machine & Carra is to be fair gettin on, you could see it last year & even more this year so unless we can get a provin centre half (not a fulham or stoke defender etc.) we have to keep Agger.

Agger is by far our best centre back when fit. I totally agree that he should be starting when available, especially after seeing soto and skrtel’s combined poor performance against wolves. Agger also offers great technique and good thinking on the ball when bringing it forward; if only he wasnt so injury prone. Soto, Skrtel and even Carra dont seem to be consistent enough. Subotic, Kjaer, Cahill all good options for us to look into! Even give Danny Wilson the chance maybe!
