Kenny highlights FIVE of the best young Liverpool stars

|

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish believes Liverpool’s squad has a lot of young talent in its ranks. The Scot highlighted five players who have impressed him so far during his short spell as manager:

“Martin Kelly has done really well for us and he is in the team on merit. Last week we had Jay Spearing and Daniel Pacheco who did really well for the reserves. They both needed games and they both showed a really good attitude and commitment. Dani scored one and made the other and Jay did really well in the middle of the pitch. He then played on Sunday and can be really proud of his performance. Danny Wilson has looked excellent in training and Jonjo Shelvey has come on off the bench and done well .”

Dalglish has already backed youth in his three selections so far with Martin Kelly, Jay Spearing and Jonjo Shelvey all picked to play some part of his matches in charge.

This week it is Liverpool fan Caroline Wozniacki!

It’s lovely to see Dalglish giving youngsters a chance in the team and we’ve seen that Martin Kelly has done a fantastic job at right back. He’s better than Johnson at defending and should be kept in that position. Jay Spearing, for me, is not good enough. He’s 22 and the quality isn’t there, he’s just not up to the task of playing for a top club like Liverpool. I like his passion and his desire but that counts for nothing at the end of the day. I expect him to be moved on in the summer. Shelvey has done well of late but he’s still developing and I wouldn’t throw him right into the starting XI yet but no doubt he’ll be a great midfielder. Dani Pacheco is the player I’d like to see of more often. The guy is pure quality and his creativity and ability to create chances for strikers will be very important to us, Kenny should give him more chances. As for Wilson, he should be covering for Skrtel and Agger as I think Soto is not up to the task and isn’t getting any better. Wilson’s played in the Champions League and his performance in Bucharest earlier proved that he’s more than capable. Our defence is shaky but he’s not quite good enough yet to replace Skrtel and Agger but maybe next season he will make the step up. Also, I hope that Dalglish can see Pacheco’s talent while he should also have a look at Suso and Mavinga who are quality youngsters. Players like Spearing work hard but to me it’s clear that he won’t make it at Liverpool. Hopefully there are more quality youngsters coming through the ranks.

“his passion and his desire but that counts for nothing”

    Is that you Woy??

    • Eric says:

Instead of talking about ‘Woy’, why don’t you try and justify your point? Or are you too uneducated to form a sentence and elaborate on your bulls***?

Players like Jay Spearing work hard all day but contributes nothing to the team. It’s clear that a player like him who’s average at best will not make Liverpool a stronger side. He needs to be moved on in the summer. You’re a bloody idiot if you think Spearing can make it at Liverpool and it’s funny how you call yourself Sit Bob Paisley!

SUSU IS A FOOTBALLING PHENOMENON – SILVA – IS VERY EXCITING – STIRLING IS A LITTLE TREASURE, THESE ARE THE FUTURE.

  • Keith says:

Spearing is truly awful. No passing ability, little tackling ability. At least he looks committed – but then any liverpool manager picking him to start a game probably should be ;(

  • stan howard says:

I SEE KENNY HAS PROMOTED SUSO ! silva, stirling and others will follow. what a talented lot of youngsters we have. rafa and those he put to work on getting these lads in deserve great credit.
