PROOF Already that Dalglish will be more attacking?

|

Despite having 100 more passes than the Magpies, they only had 12 shots on goal compared to Newcastle’s 7. Newcastle were simply more clinical and had more clear cut opportunities to put the game out of sight of Roy Hodgson’s team. If we look at Kenny Dalglish’s first game in charge against Manchester United on Sunday though, the data clock already indicates a different approach (Passing Stats left, Shot Stats Right, Left Click on them to make them bigger):

Liverpool unsurprisingly had just 247 passes compared to Man Utd’s 481 during the match, due to the fact that the Reds were down to ten men for an hour of the match. The shot count however tells us that Dalglish’s team was more open to shooting on goal than Hodgson’s side, and although many of the 12 were long shots, it is telling that despite significantly less passes, they was more of a cutting edge, as Man U only had three more in the entire match. A lot of Manchester United’s shots came in that remarkable spell where Pepe Reina made a string of saves, and it would be interesting to see what the stats showed if these were taken out of consideration.

Let’s hope that Liverpool show a greater cutting edge against Blackpool tonight. We have only scored seven goals in 10 away league games this season and hopefully Dalglish can rectify this in the coming months.

i didnt see today any attacking football..i love Kenny,i have him in my heart and i definitely wont say a thing about today’s loss as it aint his problem that we lost AGAIN but we didnt play attacking football..we have players who must be sold right NOW and players we must BUY..NESV are actually sleeping and wont sign any players this month and i cant see how we will wake up..Poulsen,Jovanovic and Konchesky must be sold right NOW as they are a disgrace for Liverpool football club..Kelly and Shelvey are youngsters but we cant play youngsters right now that the team is heavily struggling..BUY players.our squad is poor, our confidence is poor.we can win everton and we will i think but it doesnt save the season.to save the season we need players.1)partner to Torres,2)left back,3)left wing,4)3 players at least good for the bench!!NESV WAKE UP..FORGET THESE SHORT TERM LIES AND BUY US SOME PLAYERS..STUPID YANKIES..KEEP SLEEPING AND OUR CLUB WILL GO FROM WORSE TO WORSE..IT’s number 10 for our premierleague losses this season..well done..

Yep, the King needs to work with something that ersemlbes quality, you cant turn a team around with players who earn too much for what they are worth…temporary or not, investment is an absolute requirement and sorry to say but we wont get back to top 4 without, and its required like right now…

  • Sorry says:

We lost to Blackpool…. Reason:: Too much attacking, bad defending, bad selection of players, miss passes. Hope we play some good attacking futbal and patient build up other than giving the ball away. We must employ man marking. A tighter defence.
Advice:: Never play johnson at LB . Plzz

Get Elia, Adam, Suarez and good left back (tiawo, cisshoko, Contraeo) and try Glen on the right wing! We are playing better already and its only been two games! Come on lads! YNWA!!!!

How can anyone even suggest we are playing better? We have just lost to Blackpool… that’s right, Blackpool. I absolutely condemn anyone who even has the nerve to suggest we are playing better. These are the teams we should be having for breakfast week in, week out. It’s difficult to include the United game in any assessment of Kenny as we had a man sent off and decisions conspired against us. Kenny is a great guy and hopefully he will get us back up there. I compare our squads to most other prem clubs and we are head and shoulders above anyone below 5th. However these players we have couldn’t give a rats arse about the club as they know if we go down they can walk into a European side. We need some proper English grit in that midfield. Not your Poulson’s or your Meireles’… Bring Parker in and Henderson

for god sake don`t mention poulson or meireles the whole squod is not good enough.they are too slow and they can`t even pass the ball properly

  • YNWA says:

True extent of what the previous yanks did by draining our funds. we are not much better than 12th place
we have prev bought for the future and they can’t even get a game. NESV have same policy but they won’t have anything to aim for if we let other clubs get that far ahead of us and they are.. Spurs, Arsenal, Both Manc have wat better squads than what we do- We need first team material and 3-4 of them. We really need NESV to show some committment – Otherwise Kenny’s hands will be just tied as his predecessors… You can’t polish a Turd not even if you are a True Liverpool Legend…
