Kelly & Spearing Start and Enjoy the Game with Picklive!

|

It will surely be an emotional return for Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish at Anfield today (teamsheet below) and considering it is a Merseyside Derby too, the match will be all the more poignant. King Kenny resigned after a 4-4 draw back in 1991 and ever since, he has felt a sense of “unfinished business” with the Reds. He has come back to the club in a time of crisis and hopefully a win today can get Liverpool’s season back on track. With the crowd fully behind the team in an important derby, it will surely be a great match.

I would like to invite all readers to join and play along with me during today’s match in Picklive’s Live Fantasy Football. Every reader can get a FREE TRIAL HERE and it’s a great way to enjoy the game live, and win a bit of money too! There are two game modes to choose from. BIG Game and Live Game. BIG Game is where you choose five players from either team for the entire 90 minutes. You get points for goals, assists, passes completed and successful tackles while you get points deducted for fouls and miss passes. The Live Game is however even more competitive as you play in a 7.5 minute section of the game. You pick three players and watch live as their points accumulate during the allotted period of time. If your player is hopeless, you can substitute him for another, but be mindful as you are limited to the amount you can make! It’s a great way to enjoy today’s match so come and join me. Which players would you pick in your Picklive fantasy team?

I don’t like it – what are we going to learn from this selection that we don’t already know?? Surely we (mostly) already know that Kelly is a CB not a RB, Skrtel is not a viable long term CB option to take the club forwards, Johnson is a RB not a LB, Maxi and Kuyt are not wingers (or good enough for first team football anymore), our central midfield is already too small and Spearing is even smaller than the two that were already in there so he is not going to solve that problem either.

It looks like Dalglish may have been too close to the team, and rather than bringing a breath of fresh air to the first team is instead following down the same path as Hodgson in continuing to pick the same players that failed Hodgson and Benitez so miserably… This kind of line-up surely isn’t going to inspire any confidence in prospective quality signings that are looking at the club for signs that we will shortly be back on the up before signing on the dotted line… 🙁
