Eat Your Heart Out Rooney: TOP TEN Overhead Kicks Ever!

|

6 – Youri Djorkaeff (Inter Milan v Roma) – During my search I found most overhead clips from Italian games but this had to be one of the best in my opinion. Although, an honourable mention has to go to Montella, this goal had more technique and creativity about it.

5 – Peter Crouch (Liverpool v Galatasaray) – Which one do you choose? Crouchy has scored a few bicycle kicks in his career but this one against the Turkish side has to be his best compared to those scored against Arsenal and Bolton, the power of the shot in this one is unstoppable.

4 – Manuel Negrete (Mexico v Bulgaria) – I favour this video for 4th because of the great build up play and the execution of the kick by Mexico’s Manuel Negrete in the World Cup ’86, a perfect goal to cap off a great team move.

nost of these don’t even come close to Rooney’s goal in terms of execution or power.
1 of them is not even a bicycle kick, merely a volley. Djoerkaef was facing goal, so considered a scissor kick. Ronaldinho’s is similar to Berbatov’s goal vs Liverpool, so nice, but not as jaw-dropping. Only Bressan’s and Sinclair’s can match Rooney, so the article title asking Rooney to eat his heart out, is sensationalist and well.. not even true.

Liverpool wouldn’t mind having a couple of goals like that to help them get CLOSE to a champions league spot 🙂

Although Shreks goal was good & sideways on. The best overhead kick bar none Trevor Sinclair for QPR, also Rivaldo & Barnsey scored better overhead kicks & Dennis Tueart used to score those for fun
