FIVE Games which could define our season?

|

The other three fixtures before the Arsenal game include West Ham, Sunderland and West Brom; the first at home, the next two away.  All three of these games should be looked at as an 80% chance of three points.  In real terms, there’s as much chance that we could lose them as win but there are no excuses from our squad anymore; they now have a man leading them that is respected and actually has a track record – in terms of trophies – so they can no longer be let off for not turning up for games like this, with the excuse that they have no respect for their manager.

By the time these 5 games have passed, we should be looking at 11 points at the least, as far as I’m concerned, as a minimum; 9 from West Ham, Sunderland and West Brom and an absolute minimum of a point from each of City and United.  Should we get to 16th April with 15 points from 15 though, we could realistically be looking at a place in the top 4, something that wasn’t even a consideration 2 months ago.

I know, I know, it’s all ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’, but the point is: we are capable of this.  We didn’t become bad overnight, we had a bad year last season and after losing a couple of our best players we have some work to do.  But with the two high-priced strikers we’ve brought in and with the base of a good side already there, continuing our unbeaten run well into the middle of April is something we’re easily good enough to do.

So true mate, so true, we can do this and now we wait to see if we will! YNWA, 12th man makes a difference.

Don’t underestimate ManU. They grind out results because they believe in themselves!

i agree about wigan result..the draw felt as bad as a defeat…
i hope we can beat manure at home and shut them up for good…if wolves can do it, shudn’t be beyond us…

Dalglish should play a 4-5-1 formation against West Ham as the Hammers wingers would prevent Liverpool’s wingbacks getting forward in the 3-5-2 system. Dalglish needs to prioritize the Premier League ahead of the Europa League as while it is unlikely that 4th spot can be got, finishing on 72 points would put Liverpool in with a real shout at it. Benitez prioritized the mickymouse Europa League after Christmas last season and this alone resulted in the club finishing in a pathetic 7th place and this time there is no Portsmouth to get relegated.

I dont know how united is leading the table but their performances are poor. Especially away from home. Adding to it, Liverpool have the chance to make an important influence in United’s title chances… I am sure we will win that game.

Sunderland away will be extremely difficult. I doubt if we win it. Maybe we should be glad with a point there.

We really need Carroll now as Meireles is the only one scoring the goals at the moment. Thats a real weakness of the team and I cant help feeling our current position in the table will be really difficult to improve on if we keep relying on Raul.
