Lawrenson: He will “wreak havoc on unsuspecting defences”

|

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson believes that new signing Luis Suarez will easily compensate for the loss of Fernando Torres. Writing in his column for the Liverpool Daily Post, he said:

“Suarez already looks like the kind of complete attacker that will help compensate for the loss of Fernando Torres. He seems to be able to play in a variety of roles in the forward line, which makes him well placed to wreak havoc on unsuspecting defences.”

Lawrenson feels it is a shame that he is cup tied for the Europa League:

“It’s a shame Luis Suarez is cup tied for the Europa League – but in a way it only adds to the excitement of Liverpool’s run-in. It means Kenny Dalglish can pick his strongest available line-ups, knowing the Uruguayan will be fresh to lead the line in the Premier League. And although he will be missed in Europe, at least Kenny will have a clear mind when planning his strategy on the continent.”
