The Daily Mail are reporting that Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in signing Marseille’s soon to be out of contract left back Taye Taiwo. According to the paper, Alex Ferguson saw the Nigerian international play for Marseille against Monaco last month and is said to be interested in the player. Taiwo stated this week he is already in talks with a big European club. He was quoted by the newspaper The Nation as saying:
“I have made the decision not to sign a contract extension. I want to change clubs in June. My agent and I are in advanced talks with a club from one of Europe’s top three leagues and I expect to reach an agreement in the near future.Because I said I want to leave, the coach now decides when to use me. That doesn’t bother me. I have made up my mind and I have told them I’m going, For now, I will not reveal it [the club he’s leaving for]. When time comes, you guys will hear about it.”
Taiwo is also said to be interesting Manchester City, Tottenham, Juventus and Real Madrid.
