Chelsea captain John Terry has praised Liverpool’s transfer spending in the January transfer window. He said to Chelseafc.com:
“They are pretty similar to us. What they have done is a massive statement for Liverpool Football Club, the way they went out and spent money on some very good players like Andy Carroll.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has vowed not to let Fernando Torres score against him for Chelsea when the two sides meet on Sunday. Commenting to isport.blesk.cz about the Spanish striker’s departure he said:
“I expected it. There had been plenty of talk for a long time before and when he was not training with us in the last two days, nor was he in the training centre, the speculation just seemed to come true. We all feel sorry because he’s a player of world class ability but, to be honest, it was no surprise (to see him go). I wish him all the best but do not wish any success to Chelsea. Maybe Fernando will regret making this step sometime in the future. I hope he appears on the pitch and, since Chelsea wanted him so much, it is very likely that he will. I’m looking forward and firmly believe I won’t let him score.”

A massive statement- Yes. Your net spend was £75 million while ours on the other hand was only £1.8 million. There is a big difference between Liverpool and your manufactured club.
At least ONE thing is for certain: Terry will be “marking” Torres’ wife, much more closely than he EVER marked Torres!
