Was Andy Carroll originally a left back?

|

According to the People, Liverpool’s new £35million signing Andy Carroll was originally a left back when he first arrived at Newcastle’s academy. It was thanks to Academy director John Carver that he was converted into a striker. A Newcastle source told the newspaper:

“When Andy first came here he was a left-back. But JC (John Carver) and fellow Academy man Jimmy Nelson saw him more as a centre-forward. That’s why Newcastle are £35m better off today.”

Carroll has yet to make his debut for the Reds as he is still recovering from a thigh strain.

This week it is even more of Liverpool WAG Carly Zucker!
