According to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool are hoping to sign Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam for as little as £3million in the summer as he will only have a year left on his contract. Going the other way, according to the paper, is midfielder Lucas Leiva. The Mirror reports that the Brazilian will also have a year left on his contract in the summer, and that there has been little progress made on a new contract so far. The lack of new contract negotiations has sparked interest from Italian club Napoli who have been reported in Italy as being very interested in the 24 year old.

No!Why lose Lucas??there are 20players that need to be sold before he does..come on now,Lucas has been the most consistent player this season for us.i love Charlie Adam and would love to him to come at Liverpool but not to sell Lucas.we could have Charlie Adam and Lucas Leiva as DMs and Gerrard,Meireles as CMs which is good.and i dont think these news are real as Lucas just said that he loves Liverpool and wants to stay..why would Kenny want to get rid of him?? What a load of garbage. That’s why the daily mirror is grim when coming to transfer news. Liverpool have already said they will open contract talks with Lucas in the summer. He’s happy to stay and obviously dalglish rates him as he plays him every game and rarely substitutes him. Plus if he wanted to sell him he’d sign him on a new contract and then get more money for him. If you’d of said poulsen was going then I might of actually believed your story. Because poulsen doesn’t play therefore the likelyhood is dalglish doesn’t rate him. If we get £3m plus for that pudding il drop him off at John Lennon airport myself, free of charge 🙂
Lucas has played better than most of the over rated crap that has been bought in the past 12 months! He will be part of lfc next year.
If you want to rebuild you got to keep players like Lucas who would be good bench warmers and replace them first. Sell him in the summer 2012.
Would be made up to see Lucas out the exit door. Yeah he has improved compared to his early days but who wouldn’t given 150+ opportunities. Considering he plays in the deep lying midfield role where he has plenty of time on the ball he has very little impact in games. Strengths?? Not passing, shooting and there many more players in this league who can tackle better than he can. He is often dragged out of position chasing the ball to leave us exposed time and again. His only good games come when the team plays well and he’s a fantastic self publicist, forever talking himself up trying to convince himself and the fans what a good player he is. Unfortunately many of the fans now believe him. He would be no big loss and imagine where Spearing would be after 150 games. There is a reason the club aren’t breaking their necks to tie him down so please please lease Lucas GO NOW!
