Marseille left back Taye Taiwo has stated that AC Milan will be his first choice when he leaves his French club on a free transfer this summer. He told Canal Foot Club:
“I’m very pleased that Milan have shown an interest in signing me. Milan are my first option when I leave Marseille this summer.”
25 year old Taiwo has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the recent past and his statement maybe a setback to the Reds’ left back search.

People often get misty eyed over free transfers, Taiwo is a poor defender, he was awful for Marsielle against Utd and would be weak in the premier league.
Personally even on a free transfer I believe he would be over priced.

Thank Go d for that, hes over rated, he doesnt score golas, his passing is a mess, he doesnt head the ball, he is already 26, for me thats great that he doesnt want to come to melwood and work hard to get into the team.

Baines would be a smashing signing but the chances of him moving across Stanley Park are slim to none. Izaguirre of Celtic or Enrique of Newcastle seem more feasible options. Rumours aboout Arsenals Kieron Gibbs seems to be a bit outlandish but if the Gunners come in for Pepe Reina and he’s determined to join the Spanish exodus then I’d be insisting on Gibbs coming in the other direction as part of the deal. With Martin Kelly at right back and Kieron Gibbs at left back we’d have the top two young full backs in the country and the two future regular England full backs. One way or another I can’t see Kenny sanctioning any deals that bring in anymore of the sub-standard squad fillers we’ve become used to seeing come through the door under Houllier and Benitez.
So happy that many have realised that Taiwo is a joke. He is poor at defending and when he goes forward, his use of the ball is atrocious. He hits the ball with a lot of power, but it is not often that he scores goals.
i agree with everyone on this blog. We should be looking to sign Cissohko if we can’t ge him then we should go for Baines. Im sure we can get either one of them into the club..its all about the money.
but the Kieron Gibbs thing is an even bigger joke,that kid is another one who can’t play to save his life.overrated coz his english!! Plus he can even keep fit,im sorry but we have enough of those at our club.
