Diving has become more and more prevalent in football as ‘professionalism’ has become an important part of the game for many sides.

The effects of professionalism extend beyond diving to win a penalty. These days players go to ground easily and stay on the ground in an effort to get opposition players booked or sent off. The footballer’s head-butt is one of the more laughable elements of the modern game but the fact that it exists is sad. Modern footballers try many different tactics to con referees.
