A Star in the Making? Liverpool’s Adam Morgan

|

Many observers have commented that Morgan doesn’t possess a great deal of pace, nor is he a great dribbler or has a great deal of strength. What has come to fore this season however is Morgan’s great intelligence. His movement is of a player much older than him and he has the great instinct of being in the right place at the right time. Such intelligence can get you a long way in the game as you always going to get chances in front of goal.

Previously to his hot spell in front of goal, he tended to lack the cutting edge to put away the chances that came his way, but his natural finishing ability, especially with his left boot, is there for all to see, and combined with his footballing intelligence, he really has the makings of a good player. In addition, Morgan has a very high work rate. He fights very hard to win the ball back and leads from the front with his defending.

At this point however it is uncertain how far he will go. As I mentioned he does lack pace and he will certainly need to develop physically to cope with the rigours of senior football. He may become the next Robbie Fowler or the next Craig Lindfield, but we will have to wait and see. If he continues scoring goals as he moves up the ranks though, excitement will only grow.
