“I want to play in Europe, in the Champions’ League”

|

Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam has reiterated his ambitions to play at the highest level. He told the Independent on Sunday:

“It is weird, you know, because there was a time when I never thought I’d leave Glasgow, let alone come to England. Now I can’t see myself leaving this country. Off the pitch, I have met somebody who has changed my life and I am getting married. On it, I want to play in Europe, in the Champions’ League. I want that opportunity to go and play at the highest level and hopefully stay in the Premier League because it is the best league in the world for me. I want to play in it for many more years.”

Adam has been linked with Liverpool, Spurs and Manchester United in recent months.

Don’t see what the big deal is with Adam. Fair enough, he has a good range of passing and can put in a good set piece but that’s all. He isn’t great at defending and is barely mobile. He doesn’t even look fit. I’d take Aquilani over him anyday of the week. It’s a pity that Aqua isn’t too keen on returning. Never had a fair opportunity and when he did get a run of games towards the end of last season, he looked very impressive. Anyways, if we are looking for a playmaker, we should look no further than Keisuke Honda. I know his agent has come out saying he doesn’t want to leave CSKA but I believe he’s trying to play hardball.
