Lawro: A Greater Outlay is needed than the £1m net so far

|

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson believes the Reds owners will have to show a lot more money to Kenny Dalglish in the summer than the £1million net spend which they gave the Reds during the January transfer window. Writing in his column for the Liverpool Daily Post, he said:

“I’m sure talks have already happened and Kenny would love the job, although he is likely to have told John Henry that if they are to challenge for a Champions League spot next season then he’ll need X, Y and Z. So far the new American owners have spent a net £1m but a greater outlay will be required in the summer. Although Liverpool will want to continue a pursuit of young players for the future – like Carroll and Suarez – a couple of experienced players are necessary.”

Lawro also praised the performance of youngster John Flanagan against Manchester City on Monday night:

“Looking further back at Liverpool’s line-up and the debut of John Flanagan of course stood out. In many ways Kenny Dalglish did not have too many options at right-back ahead of the game but the teenager did absolutely fine. But until you throw someone like John into the first team then you’ll never know how they will cope. Much like Martin Kelly, we need to give John 15-20 games before we truly can form an opinion. But John has made a positive start and must now keep his feet on the floor.”

This week it is former LFC WAG Joanna Taylor!

I think Flanagan will be okay seems to be a real goer and does not lack confidence.
As for the money if Lawro had listened to Henry when he stated January was not a good time to buy and yet the club was still going to splash on Suarez.

Lawro talks aload of crap at times… or is that always? Stating the obvious to try and sell a column, with the dribble he spews out he could write for the S*n.

      Yeah but a great player.

What I wouldn’t give to have some one like him or Hansen in our back four again
