The Daily Star is reporting that Liverpool will splash the cash this summer to support manager Kenny Dalglish. Although the Reds are pleased with the progress of Academy graduates Jay Spearing, Martin Kelly, John Flanagan and Jack Robinson, owners Fenway Sports Group will back the manager with cash to capture some new players. The players that the Reds are watching, according to the paper, are centre backs Gary Cahill and Mamadou Sakho, wingers Ashley Young, Stewart Downing and Matt Jarvis, as well as Blackpool’s Charlie Adam.

Liverpool must get the likes of Eden Hazard(18M) and Marko Marin(15M) on the team. Their speed, youth and ability to break up the opposing teams defence is much needed at LFC. As for our left-back crisis, I think Fabio Coentrao(20M) would be the man for the job. He is the solution to all our problems at left-back. Lastly, we should get Mamadou Sakho(15M) or Simon Kjaer(15M) as our backline isn’t quite stable yet. Carragher and Kyrgiakos are both old. Hence, they are losing speed and they end up making rash tackles which might cause us some valuable points,points we wont want to risk losing. In addition, we only need to splash a sum of about 70M for 4 world class players. I say splash ! YNWA

I am confused as how would Charlie adam fit into the team, will he just be a back up for Gerrard?
Liverpool should stop wasting time by targeting average-at-best British players like Adam, Downing and Jarvis. Don’t tell me Adam is going to walk straight into the side when we have Lucas, Meireles and Gerrard. Both Downing and Jarvis are very average wingers who should be nowhere near a top club like Liverpool. The club should get N’Zogbia as well as Coentrao to play on the left wing.
N’Zogbia is not Liverpool quality, he is good, but not that good. Coentrao would be great, but can not agree about N’Zogbia.
Your wrong nzogbia is a perfect fit for our team. Hes been great at Wigan and killed us everytime we have played them. All foreign players are a risk, for every Suarez there’s a veron or a shevchenko
I believe in Coentrao LB, Mamadou Sakho CB, Nuri Sahin DM/AM, Ashley Young LW and the Ipswich wonderkid in attack and we’ll win the EPL next season. YNWA

Yes Liverpool need to target quality i would like to see Javi Martinez Jan Vertonghen Marc Albrighton and Diego Perotti to fill the gaps.
I say evaluating only 6 players for 3 positions is too narrow. Kenny Daglish and Commoli should expand the pool they are looking at. My suggestions are as follows:
LB – evaluate Taiwo, Coentrao, A. Cissokho, Y. Rakytskiy and J. Enrique.
CB – evaluate Cahill, D. Chygrynskiy, S. Kjaer, Rolando, S. Tasci and Mussacchio.
DM – evaluate S. Defour, M’Vila, M. Veloso, B. Matiudi, Fernandinho and M. Cissoko.
Wingers – evaluate A. Young, Sammir, Jurado, Gustavo Colman, A. Turan and D. Perotti.
I have excluded most players whose current teams are likely to play in CL next year assuming they will be hard to convince. YNWA

Another name to throw into the hat as a winger is Eljero Elia. How about Jesus Navas? Why do we need a defensive midfielder when we have Lucas and if needed, Raul Meireles? I agree we should look to Fabio Coentrao. I have always liked Turan, I have also always liked Marko Marin. There are a lot of talented players out there, but Gary Cahill, Matt Jarvis, Charlie Adam, I don’t believe these are the answers, dare I say big fish in small ponds, but not of Liverpool quality imho, and definately not better than what we already have. If we are looking to get a defensive midfielder, why look any further than Scott Parker?
as for wingers liverpool should look no forther than arda turan world class 16 million eueors a bargain and i think a mardid want him this deal should be hijacked by lfc please bring him to lfc turan and suraz would scare teams
