In the Premier League we love to see exciting players who have bags of talent and can change a game in a split-second with a stunning piece of skill, but equally, if not more so, football fans love to see players that get stuck in and work their socks off for the team.
There is no trait more immediately endearing to supporters than that of effort and hard work. There is certainly a British fixation with effort and activity on the pitch and someone who will give the cliched 110% for 90 minutes every single week – we call these players ‘workhorses’.
