Video Loan Watch – Goals for Amoo, Eccelston and Pacheco

|

Nathan Eccleston – The striker has started the last two games for Charlton Athletic after the best part of two months without a start. He, in fact, didn’t feature at all against Huddersfield and Oldham, but has come back to start in the 2-2 draw against Bristol Rovers and the 3-1 victory over Rochdale on Monday. Eccleston was part of a three man attack against Rochdale yesterday and scored the third goal after heading home a Paul Benson cross in the 76th minute. It was only Charlton’s second win in 17 games, leaving them 13th in League One.

Nabil El Zhar – The Moroccan continues to play regularly for PAOK Salonika, and started his last match for the Greek club against Kerkyra in 2-0 win. PAOK are 4th in the table and look set for the Champions League Round Robin tournament to see who gets the second CL place.

David Amoo – The winger must be extremely frustrated with his loan spell at Hull. He has not started a game for the Tigers and had not been used in four matches before he came on as a 70th minute sub versus QPR on Monday. He was obviously determined to prove his worth and he scored a 20 yard volley past Rangers keeper Paddy Kenny after he latched on to a Hope Akpan ball over the top of the QPR defence (Video Below). The striker prevented QPR from sealing promotion and still leaves Hull with an outside chance of a Play-off place in 10th place with 64 points.

I don’t know how we end up sending so many players on loan to clubs that don’t even play them – is there no communication at all before the kids are sent out??

I’m a strong advocate of getting the kids out on loan instead of holding them in the reserves, but it’s a pointless exercise if our youngsters are just going to sit on the bench elsewhere – they can easily do that at LFC, while under our own supervision and (potentially) training with their long term teammates in their long term environment!
