Will the Reds have to break the bank for England Star?

|

According to the Daily Mirror, Aston Villa will demand as much as £25million for the services of Ashley Young in the summer. The paper believes the 25 year old is certain to quit the club at the end of the season after failing to renegotiate a new contract, and the Birmingham club believe they have to let the player go before he leaves for free at the end of his current deal. Young is looking to increase his wages from £65,ooo to nearer £100,000 per week, and despite only having 12 months to run on his contract, Villa are confident of getting the mega valuation they have set for the player with Manchester United, Liverpool and Spurs all ready to compete for the England international.

I’d rather we get Adam Johnson and Ibrahim Afellay for a combined 25 million than Young alone. With FFP, City will have to sell and maybe a 15 million bid for AJ would be good enough provided he pushes for a move. Afellay may also look to move on from Barca’s bench. Both would do the trick for us.

Right, – there is now way that greedy old villa can dream of getting any where near what they think they want for young.

Spurs will not pay that much on one player, they already have wingers, and lennon is as good as young, however spurs could sell lennon to liverpool and buy young as a replacement, (watch this space).

or man utd would come into it, remember thay giggs, nani, and valencia so would that cash less club who have already and are going to be paying out best part of 20 mill for devaid de gea, they will just not spend 25 mill on young, they havent got it.

City might get involved, then you might be able to see a bidding war, but Liverpool will not pay 25 mill for a player that want, but is nearly 27 and has then got a huge wage demand and then followed by a 3 club bidding war.

The player is good and for me he has liverpool all over him, but its his choice, for me id be shocked if we got young, but if your asking for 25 million would i buy young… NO WAY.

MATA, SANCHEZ, NAVAS ARE ALL WORTH THAT MUCH IF YOU THINK VILLA CAN GET THAT AMOUNT FOR HIM?

  • tony says:

not worth 25 mil not consistent every game another theo walcott

  • amit says:

no way in d world any1 would pay 25mill for him as he has only a year left on his contract so i think offering them joe cole and 10mill is more than enough to take him to anfield and if not then in that amount of money we can buy adam johnson and jeremy menez in 25 mill u r such a jerk gerrard houllier

if kenny stays incharge then i can see alot british players wanting 2 play 4 us.

  • drake says:

nope not at that price . He sounds like he’s only interested in his bank balance. He may have to slum it as best he can on 65K/month for a bit

  • Steve S says:

    drake – £65k a month? – a week you mean !! ^5k a month would be a disaster for these poor fellas !

  • stanley says:

i think he’s slightly over-rated and if we have to break the bank with only one year left on his contract then he’s not worth it…
there are other gud wingers like n’zogbia, jarvis and downing..
