Will this summer be a tipping point for LFC?

|

As has been stated before, Liverpool’s main problems are their lack of width on the wings, along with the overall lack of pace throughout the squad. The acquisition of two top class wingers has to be one of the manager’s main priorities this summer, while a reliable left back will also be needed to replace the outbound Konchesky. Add to that a couple of decent squad signings to improve our depth and I really do believe we can storm back into serious contention for the Champions League places next season.

There is no doubting that our squad has great potential, and it excites me to imagine that next season we could be seeing a settled Carroll playing alongside a settled Suarez while having top class service delivered to them by a new high quality winger. Despite clearly struggling at the moment, Liverpool are seen as one of the best football clubs in the world so I am expecting us to still be able to compete for the signatures of the most wanted players around.

With the club in quite a vulnerable position, it is imperative that we don’t allow ourselves to slip further behind the five clubs currently ahead of us in the league. The only way to ensure that we go from strength to strength is by signing the right high quality players in the summer. It’s been well documented that we’ve bought a lot of duds in recent years, but this summer more than any other is one where we simply cannot afford to make mistakes in the transfer market. Get our signings right and we could be right back in amongst the Champions League places while also having a say in the title race; get it wrong however and we could slip even further into obscurity and risk losing whatever good players we have left. Over to you then Mr Comolli and co.

A lot depends on Andy Carroll. I am still to see why the money was spent on him.
i hope he is just unfit and will be just great for us, however, i have not seen anything encouraging so far.
