Good News but he will now have no excuses next season

|

“Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere will not be part of the Under 21 squad which travels to Denmark. Andy has been ruled out through injury.” said Stuart Pearce in a statement on the FA’s official website.

This comes as good news to Liverpool as there had been a lot of debate whether Carroll will be included in the England Under 21 squad that takes part in the European tournament this summer. Carroll missed Liverpool’s final game of the season against Aston Villa due to a knee injury. Dalglish explained after the Aston Villa game:

“Andy’s not been able to sustain any reasonable time in training and it would have been irresponsible of us to bring him. We played him last week (against Tottenham), but it was unfair on him that we did ask him to play. I didn’t think we should risk the boy’s fitness by bringing him. Although we’ve not got any games, it’s important they’re all back fit in July.”

So with Carroll getting a rest this summer, we surely can expect the best out of him come next season.

As long as he has a dry summer and comes back fit we should see a big improvement. If he goes on the ale then all we will see next season is Andy Carroll on the ‘treatment’ table.
