Has the time already come for a Red Dawn?

|

There is no longer a revolution underway at Anfield, it is well and truly complete as Liverpool now occupy fifth place in the Premier League and although it is probably too late to catch Manchester City for the Champions League berth, this season has been well and truly rescued by Kenny Dalglish and his team. Liverpool spent big and boldly in the January transfer window in order to try and salvage their season and despite Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez (especially) having performed well for the Merseyside outfit since their arrival, it has been ‘King’ Kenny’s faith in the youngsters that has been the real positive from this season.

John Flanagan, Jack Robinson, Jay Spearing, Jonjo Shelvey and Martin Kelly have all made great strides under the Kop Hero and have slotted in comfortably to aid Liverpool through their injury troubles, with all of them turning in performances that belie their years. Dalglish’s belief in the youngsters has been a breathe of fresh air in a league that sees the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City mainly ignoring home grown talent and preferring to spend big abroad, but with a reported major summer overhaul of Liverpool’s squad, will the promising starlets be lost amongst pound signs and foreign imports?

we still need at least 6 really good players to add to our squad. were ganna have alot of games next season and will need 23 first teamers plus the kids. everyone knows the players that have to go would keep maxi on current form. the players that come in have to be better than who they replace. the kids have done great and cant wait to see how they progress but we need investment. were no longer the top team and have to get back to were we belong. long live the king

Spearing is nothing more than an useful squad player. He doesn’t possess any creativity.

Why would Spearing get better if played alongside Gerrard? Lucas has been a great midfielder the past copuple of years and allows his partner to get forward – Gerrard tends to do very little tracking back and Spearing would simply be there to watch his back
Gerrard should be moved out wide as he doesn’t have the industry
Your statement asserting that he Spearing would improve alongside Gerrard is based on what assumptions exactly? You can’t just make a sweeping statement like that without qualifying it

What kind of standards do you have!!? – that is the most deluded comment ever!!!! This revolution will be over when we have dominated english and european soccer for a further 20 years!!! Clown!

This is such a stupid post! The young lads are hungry and you haven’t even seen Sterling, Coady, Wisdom, Silva, Suso and Pacheco fully entertain! I’m not worried about LFC once Kenny is involved. several months ago, I never dreamed of a player like Suarez being here and then the coup for the big man “Carroll”. Rid of Aquilani, Agger, Poulsen, Konchesky, Jovanovic, Cole and some bit parts and add a Power Left Winger (Mata, Greizmann, Adam Johnson, Turan, even N’Zogbia). Add a few impact players off the bench in Park Chu Young, Daniel Sturridge, and a Left back with both offensive/defensive skills-Izaguirre, Baines (8m plus Eccelston, Konchesky)
We can win and I’m still scratching my head to why we didn’t take Sturridge in the Torres deal! :s
