Should we be looking at the “Spanish Messi”?

|

Playing in the top league at the tender age of 16, Muniain has shown a great deal of maturity beyond his years. He has great tactical awareness, and this was emphasised by his manager Caparros when after he provided two assists against Real Zaragoza last season, he said that Muniain possesses a “built-in GPS and eight gears.” Not only is he tactically astute in the offensive third though, he can also track back runners and has a never-say-die attitude which has led some in Spain to compare him favourably to Wayne Rooney.

He never shies away from physical encounters despite his diminutive stature and his hunger for the game is greatly admired. He loves to play the game at high tempo, and he has added goal scoring to his locker this season by scoring nine goals from his left wing position.

Still, there are areas that Muniain will need to improve upon. He is not physically strong, and can be pushed off the ball a little bit too easily. You can imagine that opposition defenders would make mince meat of the player in the Premier League, but with his ball control, speed and skill, he may just be too quick for many defenders, and you only have to look as far as Lionel Messi to know that size and strength isn’t everything in the modern game.

So, in conclusion, Muniain is certainly a promising player. Whether he would be interested in a move to Liverpool is up for debate, but he would certainly fit into the strategy of bringing in quality young players to Anfield.

  • Gerrard says:

    BUY HIM!!! 😀

    GO LIVERPOOL!!

WE NEED BTO BE THE BEST AGAIN!!!

NOW UNITED HAVE TITLE NUMBER 19!

    GO LIVERPOOL!!!!!!!!!!

  • His style is pretty similar. He would be expensive though as he is one of Spain hottest prospects.

  • Mike roberts says:

Well I am in dreamland ! With Muniain and Suarez running at premier league defenses they would all be crapping themselves ! The title would be ours just for starters and the FA cup just for good measure ! What are we waiting for !!! Get out and sign him Liverpool ! P.S @ Gerrard the above comment on Manure winning the 19th Title ? NO CHANCE !!! There bottle has gone ! Arsenal murdered them and Chavski are gonna do the same . Wouldn’t it be ironic if Toress scores the winning goal against the scum !!!

  • Shibashis says:

By any chance is this kid related to Speedy Gonzalez? 😀
He looks great, must admit…will be expensive but could be worth the risk.

  • philC says:

I doubt we’ll get the kid. The only chance we’ll get him is if he is an LFC supporter like Torres. If he’s ready to move we can expect Barca or Real to fight over him and his asking price will inflated ten folds

  • Meireles says:

If Torres scores against Manure…all will be forgiven!

  • man says:

    4 player we must grap.

    1. left back ( clichy – 15 million )
    2. left winger ( downing – 13 million )
    3. attacking striker(odemwingie – 7 million only)
    4. centreback ( cahill – 15 million )

the reason of this 4 player :
    no injury prone.
they will give option.. cross..shoot..cut inside..class deffending action )

good player.. 3 of them .. of coz will play at europe league.. so i think they will sign for us

in case of clichy.. how to get him..but in the sesson he will play every game.( 75 % game epl + euro ).. must get him. look what he was doing to park ji sung..

  • aj says:

i agree with @man but not the players he has said , left-back clichy or enrique , lw : young , perotti , attacking striker : taarabt or bojan , cb : cahill

so 2 were good but not all 😀

  • J J says:

  • navin says:
