The Biggest Consequence so far of Dalglish’s New Deal?

|

The rapid upturn in form under King Kenny however must have gradually convinced Reina that the club was going in the right direction. On top of the owners showing their commitment to new signings with the purchases of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll in January, Dalglish had got the team playing in a style that would have reassured Reina that it wouldn’t be too long before the club would be competing for titles once again.

Still, with the uncertainty over Dalglish’s future, you could hardly blame Reina for not committing totally when there was still doubt over who would be in charge next campaign. The new deals signed by both King Kenny and Steve Clarke yesterday looks to have made up Pepe’s mind over his future.

Of course nothing is ever certain in football, and I will wait until the end of the August transfer window to fully believe it, but I am now confident we will be seeing Pepe Reina between the sticks for Liverpool for a fair few more years yet. With Dalglish at the helm, and the man the Scot believes is the best keeper in the world, still at the club, we can look forward to a summer of squad improvement rather than any worries of the squad being dismantled.

agree. i like the comments made by tom werner today saying comolli has a big job of recruiting in the summer. i think we have to act fast in the market and believe targets have already been identified. cant wait for sunday to beat spurs and claim 5th would be a massive achievement considering the state we were in on jan 1st.

Two central defenders like Mateo Musacehilo and Marmadou Sakho would make the defence stronger
