The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Liverpool are in a three way tussle with Manchester United and Arsenal for the signature of Blackburn Rovers centre half Phil Jones. Kenny Dalglish is keen to seal a deal for the 19 year old, according to the paper, but may have to pay the £16million release clause written into the player’s contract, as Rovers are not keen to sell. The fee may rise even higher if Arsenal and Manchester United get involved and although both Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger do not see the player as a priority with other areas of their teams needed to be reinforced, their hands maybe forced if the Reds do bid for the youngster.

This week it is LFC WAG Michela Quattrociocche!

With the past furore about agents commissions in foreign transfers involving liverpool-does this sudden total emphasis on the english market show a lack of trust from Henry and Werner towards Dalglish and Comolli as to the actual transfer fees being paid-and is it helping to cause these inflated english fees.Does the english market see this also as a lack of trust from the liverpool ownership?

great signing if we can pull it off. With carra in his twilight years, jones could be an excellent replacement! Hope its true!

Jones is a promosing player but Liverpool shouldn’t waste 15m on this guy when we’ve got the likes of Flanagan, Kelly and Ayala. Kenny and Comolli should seriously stop looking at overpriced British players.
