Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has identified Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing as his number one attacking priority in the summer transfer market, according to the Daily Mirror. The Reds boss is aware of Aston Villa’s unwillingness to sell the club’s Player of the Year but he is not going to give up in his pursuit for the 26 year old. Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has made it his primary concern to keep Downing to hopefully ward off any revolt from the fans, but the Reds are preparing a big money move for the winger, according to the Mirror, and with the player only having two years left on his contract, Villa may find it hard to resist.

andy carroll scored 13 goals in 28 appearances compare that to an other english striker wayne rooney who scored only 3 more at 16 in 12 more thats 40 appearences. carroll will get better service at lfc rooney wont get any better service that what he had. 35 mill bargain.
if lfc buy downing and he gets the ball to suarez ,kuyt,carroll consistently 20 mill would be a fair price. henderson seems expensive i will admit but kenny will get the best out of him, dont judge him on his u21 performance under pearce lets face it pearce couldnt organise a piss up in a brewery

The transfer market hasn’t opened yet in all European countries except England, so I’m hoping the 1st of next month when it opens, we will get proper class and not Downing.I also hope we replace Kuyt on the right wing because he’s not good enough there, too slow, can’t beat the first defender or put a ball in the box I wanna see Kuyt as back up for Carroll & Suárez as a striker where he’s much better..The wing is the most important position I think and we need pace and ability if we want to seriously challenge the top teams.
