Alberto Aquilani’s agent Franco Zavaglia has admitted that his client will be returning to Liverpool:
“Aquilani is going back to Liverpool.”
This certainly leaves manager Kenny Dalglish with a dilemma of sorts. It was reported in the Blackpool Gazette today that the Reds will make another bid for Charlie Adam, and with Raul Meireles also still at the club, there are fundamentally too many number central midfield options at the club, especially if you include the versatile Jordan Henderson in the mix.
Even in a 4-3-3 formation which allows for two offensive midfielders, two spots in the centre of the park will surely be filled by Steven Gerrard and Lucas, leaving only one space to be filled by perhaps four options, if Adam also arrives at the club.
In some respects it is good to have so many options but I seriously doubt Kenny Dalglish will want to be so oversubscribed in one position. Two of the four options may get hardly any game time next season if King Kenny does not opt for a rotation policy.
It is good problem to have but I seriously doubt that despite what he says about the player, he will want Aquilani on Liverpool’s books next campaign. Kenny has said himself he believes Aqua is a talented player, and that he showed his class for Juve last season, but the only scenario I can see the Italian staying is if Dalglish calls off his pursuit of Charlie Adam.

Keep meireles stay (his heart is still reds) and let aquilani go (he have no reds in all of his body & soul).

I see shelvey as to young, to rash and needs more games, sho for me he would go out on loan.

I see raul better than aquilani at least he wants to be here, he siad in the guardian and on our offical web site only 4 weeks ago that he loves it at liverpool and would sign for 10 – 20 years, he is a good player.
I see aquilani as not wanting to be here, he seems to tell his agent something every other week, why after all we have doen to help him welcome him back only for him to keep going on and on about italy?? its a piss take really, love to sell him and get his wages of the wage bill.
If we can get rid of joe cole, poulsen and jovanovic and replace with adam, downing and henderson and by selling aquilani and then adding juan mata then thats about the best we could hope for.

Poulsen and Lucas (i think he’s overrated + to many mistakes in the game) should be sold and eventualy also Aqua (solid value).. We have one of the most talented midfield in the world with Jay, Shelvey & Jordan who are already ready to jump to highest level.. also Aurelio, Konchesky, Kyrgiakos, Jovanovic should all leave.. for that money we can afford maybe Coentrao or some other world class left back because i think we are weakest on that position.. with Andy, Luis and Dirk in front and Maxi, Cole, Ngog, Pacheco, Suso in the subs i think we are finaly able to WIN the league!!!! I know future is bright for Liverpool………. cheers
