If you do leave, good luck David

|

Still, the striker was young and needed time and games to develop. At times he showed composure in front of goal, most notably against Manchester United 2 years ago at Anfield, sealing victory in the last minute, but at other times he would be wasteful, and when you are the club’s sole striker in a 4-5-1 formation, the pressure on him to score was very high.

It would be fair to say though he dealt with everything thrown at him quite admirably and despite not being the finished article, he started off this season quite well with goals in the Europa League and in the opening league game against Arsenal; things seemed to be looking up.

Game time became increasingly limited as the season progressed and with the arrival of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez, Ngog became a peripheral figure. At 22, he still has many years to improve his technique, first touch and finishing abilities. He does have many natural qualities such a strength, power and pace which could assist him in becoming a very good centre forward, but he will need game time to progress. If he does move to Sunderland and get the matches he needs, he may have a very good future ahead him. Good luck David.

  • K Johnie Njora says:

All the Best Davidi you have a bright future. Will always remember you with First Goal of the Season against Arsenal. Thankyou

  • Andy says:

I wish him well, it never worked out for him here, partly due to torres insistence on playing as a lone striker. His best moment for us would have to be his goal v Man U and if for nothing else we should wish him good luck in the future.

  • Dan says:

redz you are a plonker and not a try red. it’s not Ngogg’s fault and end if the day we didn’t lose anything and he was there the few times we needed him. I hate it when so called supporters don’t back their team and mangers thru good or bad they wear the red jersey and apart from torres and jovac no other player has moaned or said anything bad or done anything bad to receive the crap people like you lay out. Unless you can play any better keep your thoughts to yourself

    • redfan23 says:

Dan, to call him a ‘plonker’ is a compliment. we could throw in ‘brain-dead’ ‘pig ignorant’, or, in his own words, ‘waste of dpace’. So called ‘supporters like redz the club can do without. Ngog never really got a fair deal at Liverpool. He often ended up isolated up front, especially under Hodgson. he tried, and I think he will end up as a more than fair striker

may the spirit of L4 fans and club be with you david, Good Luck

  • Paul says:

    good riddance

  • Jack says:

Good to see most of our fans wishing him well. Pity that there will always be a couple of morons.

  • m williams says:

All the best David!People like Redz and Paul are not true reds fans and are the real plonkers- just glory hunters who don’t understand the culture of the club. Ngog gave his best and I wish him all the best. God bless you David.

  • Steve says:

Agree with the majority here and wish him well.

Shame on those with nothing positive to say, as fans we should back everyone who represents the club (until they speak out and then they’re fair game!). David did what was asked of him to the best of his ability and never complained – can you ask for more?

    • Martin Badger says:

Yes, you could ask for a bit of talent. N’gog didn’t have any. Get the idea?

  • Fivelamps says:

Best of luck for the future – you’ll always get a warm welcome from the kop

  • fowler9 says:

Redz you’re a tard. Ngog did a good job for us and popped up with a few important goals. He’s nowhere near the finished article but when the penny drops and he has the confidence to throw himself about he’ll be a good striker. Best of luck

  • Martin Badger says:

The best thing about the Sunderland deal is that N’gog is leaving. He was strictly a Sunday league player and even in the park he’d be nothing special. It’s a disgrace that a club of Liverpool’s stature has players like that on the books. Thank God he’s leaving. No more of that silly smirk when he miscontrols the ball or gives it away.

  • Martin Badger says:

I too would give my best if I played for Liverpool. But it wouldn’t be enough – just as it isn’t with N’gog. One of the reasons we never win anything is that the fans are too soft on their players. Anything and anybody is good enough for us. Hardly the attitude that made us great.
